Benjamin Ruiz

Award-winning tenor Benjamin Ruiz is an international singer who's performed across the United States and Europe with companies including Opera San José, The Santa Fe Opera, Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, and Mittelsächsisches Theatre in Germany. His performance credits include Gastone in La traviata, Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Peter Quint in The Turn of the Screw, Tybalt in Roméo et Juliette, and Beppe in Pagliacci. Ruiz is currently a 2026-2027 Studio Artist with Opera Orlando and is to debut as Der Steuermann in The Flying Dutchman and cover Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly and Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore. He has collaborated in concerts and recitals with Nashville Opera, OTSL, and the Grammy-Award winning Saint Louis Symphony. Ruiz has enjoyed a decorated career placing and winning in many competitions including the Duncan Williams Voice Competition, The Metropolitan Opera's Laffont Competition, The George and Nora London Foundation for Singers, and the Alan and Joan Taub Ades Competition. Ruiz received his Master's in Music from Manhattan School of Music, where he was the recipient of the Edgar Foster Daniels Scholarship.
